So the clocks have gone back, it gets dark earlier and the weather is starting to get colder. Instead of resorting to spending your days off at home, there are a whole host of activities to do in Bristol that allow you to stay indoors and in the warm… here are a few suggestions from us at South West Mini Buses.
1. Bristol Museum and Art Gallery
The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery has been awarded designated status by the government with a collection of art, cultural information and artefacts of natural science. The museum and art gallery spans three floors of interesting exhibitions, together with family-friendly areas that are sure to keep the little ones happy.
The Bristol Museum and Art Gallery is a great day out for the family, schools or other large groups, with free admission and easily accessible for the city centre.
2. Bristol Climbing Centre
The Bristol Climbing Centre has been awarded ‘Regional Centre of Excellence’ status by the Sports Council, and is considered one of the most comprehensive indoor climbing facilities in the country.
Built within the walls of the Church of St. Werburghs, a fifteenth century church, the venue provides a great atmosphere with 12 metre high climbing walls, overhangs and arches.
With climbing and bouldering facilities available, you can book lessons and enter competitions and events at the centre.
The Bristol Climbing Centre is a truly unique venue for a great day out!
3. Bristol Aquarium
The Bristol Aquarium, located in Bristol harbour, is a great day out for nature lovers, with hundreds of species of fish and other sea-life to admire. One of the main attractions at the aquarium is the resident Giant Pacific Octopus, one of the largest species of octopus in the world. The octopus has even been known to solve complex puzzles and tasks – a regular feature of their displays.
Bristol Aquarium is a perfect day out for families and schools, with package options available for school trips.
Bowling – the classic group activity where everyone can get involved and have a good time. Here in Bristol, there are a whole host of places to bowl including Hollywood Bowl, Bowplex, The Lanes and many more! Bowling is a great activity for people of all ages, whether you’re taking a children’s party and therefore require a fun and safe environment with activities for everyone or on a group trip with your friends. Most of Bristol’s bowling centres have small cafes and bars, too.
So we’ve now given a few ideas of indoor activity ideas, but why not also consider a nice, relaxing day at the spa with some friends? Bristol is the home of many luxury spa and wellbeing centres, well equipped with steam rooms, saunas, Jacuzzis and treatment rooms.
It’s time to take some timeout and have a great day out with friends and family, and if you require, give us a call for Bristol minibus hire and taxi hire in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
